About

Catchlight.be was created in the first place to show the highlights of my work to friends and family. But it all started like this…

At the age of 14, I was allowed (!) to carry my dad’s Canon A1 when we were on holiday. Soon, my fingers started twitching the buttons, and with a little enthousiastic help from dad, I tried to get to his level.

Years later, when I was able to buy my own gear, I started with a Sony DSC-F505. Terrific bridge camera (for that time!) with very bright and vivid colors. It was rapidly replaced by it’s big brother: the Sony DSC-F707. Next to being a bit bigger, it also was a hell of a lot quicker.

A hell of a lot quicker wasn’t fast enough. I missed loads of opportunities due to shutter lag. For stills, it was just great. Some of the early pictures on this site were shot with it.
One thing was for sure… I missed an SLR. Nikon saved me by producing the D80. Altough my first one was stolen from my appartement (damn you, filthy thief!), I wasn’t too discouraged to buy a new one and went on shooting.

If you like these stills from my hand and imagination, don’t hesitate to leave some comments, ratings or to drop me a mail (vincent@).
